Let’s dive right in 🔮
WHAT DOES A SPOTIFY EDITOR DO?
-
Being a Spotify Editor means serving both local and global audiences, finding and supporting new talent early, understanding user needs and identifying content gaps. From the biggest flagships to niche spaces, my work covers the whole spectrum of music.
-
Working at Spotify always means working cross-functionally. Be it Wrapped, Sanremo Festival, Eurovision, a Summer campaign or an artist takeover, editors at Spotify work closely with Marketing, PR, Visual Merchandising and more to deliver top-tier campaigns and activations.
-
Spotify editors work at the intersection between human curation and algorithmic recommendations. We work closely with various teams in this area, bringing cultural and editorial expertise.
-
At Spotify, I have access to all of the unreleased music in the world. I listen to new music every day and, together with colleagues from around the globe, work to find the right audiences and playlists for artists so that they can find new listeners and fans.
-
Bringing music from local to international and global audiences is part of the company’s DNA and my day-to-day work. I am part of Global Curation Groups focusing on dance and electronic music and hip-hop, but my contributions span across all genres.
-
My work is data-informed. My day-to-day work entails analyzing and reporting on playlist performance, music trends and virality in order to be best prepared to attain my team and the company’s OKRs.
